Rambo: Last Blood (2019)

Rambo: Last Blood is one of those movies that gives away the entire plot, from start to finish, in the trailers. It is the least subtle Rambo movie since Rambo III. There are only two messages in the whole movie; bad men will always be bad men, and violence. The second message is featured much more prominently. For as brutal as Rambo (2008) was, this new installment is even bloodier. The blood effects were circa 2005, but it was still satisfying. This movie had the foundation of a decent movie, but it was not a decent movie. It was so dumb that I felt disrespected while watching it. It telegraphed every action set piece, making it less enjoyable, and between the fights was a glut of dialogue that did not advance anything. Rambo: Last Blood was very stupid, so I give it 27 out of Sylvester Stallone’s 73 years of age.
