Game Night (2018)

I saw Game Night tonight and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a surprising comedy that could have easily fell apart a dozen times, but held it together with consistent laughs and some nice surprises beyond what is shown in the trailer. Bateman and McAdams were terrific, but the supporting players were great, too. In many ensemble comedies, there is usually one or two characters whose schtick starts to get stale after half of the movie, but the one-note characters were not overused so everybody was at the very least tolerable throughout. It was also only 1 hour and 43 minutes, which is very refreshing after an Oscar season full of movies pushing 2.5 hours. Game Night was a fun time and a fantastic date movie. I give Game Night 45 out of 54 Jenga pieces.
